Set in a most picturesque setting adjacent to the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal, this profitable business operated a hire fleet of five traditional narrowboats from character, stone built canalside premises with charming flat, linear moorings, parking and ancillary facilities.
Robertsons were instructed to offer the business as a going concern, to include the five narrowboats, leasehold premises, land and moorings.
Meeting with vendors to inspect the premises, narrowboats, moorings and other facilities. Perusal of last three years accounts, British Waterways lease and other documentation. Following appraisal of all relevant information, marketing advices were provided to the vendors. With their approval the business opportunity was place on the open market through Robertson’s agency.
As a result of extensive marketing, a sale of the business and narrowboats was agreed at an acceptable price. Solicitors were then instructed to prepare a sale contract. As the premises were leasehold in the name of the vendor, it was necessary to advise British Waterways and to seek Landlord’s consent to a formal assignment of the lease. The sale contract and deed of assignment were prepared, agreed and completed by the purchaser to conclude the agency instructions.
